These fun triangle enamel stud earrings feature an abstract half crisscross pattern. They were made using the sgraffito technique, where the irregular pattern is scratched through the enamel, providing a lovely contrast between the enameled copper below and the black enamel.

Sterling silver posts are soldered on the backs of copper triangles before they are enameled. First they are enameled with a layer of clear enamel, followed by a layer of lovely black enamel over half the front. Then the crisscross pattern is scratched out of the black enamel allowing the copper beneath to show through before kiln-firing them again to achieve the smooth finish. They are finished with black enamel on the back sides.
