These geometric enamel stud earrings feature a fun crisscross  lined pattern. They were made using the sgraffito technique, where the irregular pattern is scratched through the black enamel, providing a lovely contrast between the positive and negative space.

These earrings are hand-cut out of copper sheet metal to achieve the irregular geometric shape of the earrings and then sterling silver posts are soldered on the backs. Next they are ready to be enameled, first with a layer of clear enamel, followed by a layer of lovely black enamel over the front. Then the crisscross pattern is scratched out of the black enamel allowing the copper beneath to show through before being kiln-fired again to achieve the smooth finish. They are finished with gray enamel on the back sides.
